Alcedo Care is recruiting a Female Complex Care Assistant to support one adult client with complex mental health and care needs in their own home in Whitehaven.

This is not a zero-hours position. You'll have a guaranteed 24-hour weekly contract, working two 12-hour day shifts as part of a dedicated, long-term care team.

You'll provide consistent, person-centred support, helping the client maintain their independence, dignity, choice and quality of life.

About the Role

We're looking for someone compassionate, observant and reliable who can confidently support an individual with complex healthcare needs.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing safe, person-centred care and personal support

• Medication support in line with the care plan

• Moving and handling, including hoisting and specialist equipment

• Supporting alternative and non-verbal communication

• Recognising and responding to changes in physical or emotional wellbeing

• Promoting independence, dignity and informed choices

• Maintaining accurate care records and handovers

• Following clinical care plans, risk assessments and escalation procedures

Continuity, reliability and building trust with the client are essential.

Full Specialist Clinical Training Provided

Our in-house clinical team and Registered Nurses provide paid specialist training, competency assessments and ongoing clinical support tailored to the client's needs.

Training may include moving and handling, hoisting, medication support, communication, recognising deterioration and person-centred risk management.

You'll only undertake clinical tasks once appropriately trained and assessed as competent.

What We're Looking For

Ideally, you'll have:

• At least six months' care experience in a UK care setting or significant family caring experience

• A calm, compassionate and reliable approach

• Confidence providing personal care and moving and handling support

• Strong observation and communication skills

• The ability to work 12-hour day shifts

• A commitment to dignity, independence and person-centred care

Experience supporting individuals with acquired brain injuries (ABI), mental health needs or complex care requirements would be advantageous but isn't essential, as full specialist training is provided.
