Guaranteed minimum 36 contracted hours per week

About the Role

Alcedo Care is looking for confident, compassionate and resilient people to join our specialist Mental Health Rapid Response Team, supporting new and existing complex care packages across North Wales and surrounding areas.

This is a varied, fast-paced role where you'll help new care packages get off to a safe and positive start while also providing support across established services when required.

You'll work with people who may have complex mental health, behavioural, learning disability or additional care needs. Depending on the care package, you may support adults, young people or children.

This role is particularly suited to people who are calm under pressure, comfortable managing challenging situations and confident building trust with people who may be experiencing significant difficulties.

What You'll Be Doing

As part of our Rapid Response Team, you'll support the mobilisation of new complex care packages and provide high-quality, person-centred support across a range of services.

Your role may include:

• Helping new care packages start safely and smoothly
• Supporting clients with complex mental health and behavioural needs
• Building trusting and consistent relationships
• Supporting emotional wellbeing and positive behaviour
• Promoting independence, choice and daily living skills
• Supporting clients with activities and community engagement
• Following individual care plans, risk assessments and agreed support strategies
• Working alongside families, healthcare professionals and wider care teams
• Responding calmly and professionally to challenging or changing situations
• Travelling between care packages across North Wales and surrounding areas

The People You May Support

Following appropriate training and competency assessment, you may work with individuals who have needs including:

• Complex mental health conditions
• Learning disabilities or learning difficulties
• Behaviours that challenge
• Self-harm or suicide risk
• Ligature risks
• Positive Behaviour Support requirements
• Increased levels of observation or supervision
• Restrictive interventions where specifically required, trained and authorised
• Legal restrictions or safeguards relevant to the individual's care arrangements

CPI and other specialist training will be provided where required for the care package.

Who We're Looking For

We're particularly interested in applicants with relevant experience in areas such as:

• Mental health support
• Complex care
• Health and social care
• Secure services
• Prison or custodial services
• Ambulance or emergency services
• Healthcare and clinical support
• Other high-responsibility roles involving vulnerable people or challenging situations

You don't necessarily need to have followed a traditional care career route.

What matters is that you have relevant experience and can demonstrate the confidence, judgement, resilience and compassion needed to support people with complex needs.

Essential Requirements

You will need:

• Relevant experience supporting people with mental health, complex or behavioural needs, or substantial transferable experience from an appropriate setting
• A full UK driving licence
• Access to your own vehicle for work
• Ability to travel across North Wales and surrounding areas
• Confidence working in fast-paced and changing environments
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• A calm, reliable and professional approach
• The resilience to support people experiencing complex or challenging situations

NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care is welcomed, but equivalent relevant experience will also be considered.
