You will have a guaranteed 36-hour contract, every week, giving you the security of consistent hours, a reliable income and the opportunity to become part of a stable, long-term care team. Shift patterns are days and nights 08:00-20:00 or 20:00-08:00.
About the Role
You'll be supporting an adult with complex neurological, respiratory and mobility needs who wishes to continue living safely and comfortably in their own home while retaining as much independence, choice and control as possible.
This is a highly person-centred role. Alongside providing clinical and physical support, you'll be helping someone continue to live their life at home, surrounded by the people and things that matter to them. The client has complex healthcare needs, so we're looking for carers who are calm, observant and confident working responsibly as part of a closely supported care team.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing safe, compassionate and person-centred support
- Tracheostomy care and respiratory support
- Tracheostomy suctioning in accordance with the client's care plan, clinical guidance and your assessed competencies
- Monitoring respiratory wellbeing and recognising changes that may require escalation
- Supporting gastrostomy/PEG care
- Medication support in accordance with the care plan
- Supporting personal care while protecting the client's dignity, privacy and choices
- Responding calmly and appropriately to changes in the client's presentation
- Promoting independence and supporting the client's right to make informed choices
- Maintaining accurate care records and providing clear handovers
- Following clinical risk assessments, care plans and escalation procedures
- Working closely with the wider care and clinical team to provide consistent support
You'll become part of a regular team, so continuity, reliability and building trust with the client are extremely important.
Full Specialist Clinical Training Provided
Our in-house clinical team and Registered Nurses will provide specialist training, competency assessment and ongoing clinical support relevant to the client's individual care package.
Training may include:
- Tracheostomy care
- Tracheostomy suctioning
- Respiratory monitoring and escalation
- PEG/gastrostomy care
- Medication support
- Recognising clinical deterioration
- Person-centred risk management
You'll only carry out clinical tasks once you have received the appropriate training and been assessed as competent.

What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who is compassionate and caring, but equally importantly, someone who can remain calm, observant and professional when supporting complex clinical needs.
Ideally, you'll have:
- A minimum of 6 months' hands-on care experience within a UK care setting or significant experience supporting a family member
- Confidence supporting someone with complex care needs
- A reliable and professional approach
- Strong observation skills and the confidence to escalate concerns
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to support someone who communicates non-verbally
- Confidence with moving and handling and providing personal care
- A commitment to promoting independence, dignity, choice and person-centred care
- Be able to complete 12 hour day shifts and/or nights
Previous experience with tracheostomy care, suctioning, PEG/gastrostomy care or complex neurological conditions would be advantageous, but it is not essential where the right care experience and attitude are demonstrated, as full specialist training will be provided.
