Alcedo Care is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Female Waking Night Care Assistant to support a lady living with Motor Neurone Disease (MND) in her own home in Egremont.
This is a one-to-one role where you'll provide personalised support throughout the night, helping to ensure comfort, safety and wellbeing while enabling the client to remain in the place she feels most comfortable – her own home.
Please note: This role is open to female applicants only. This is a genuine occupational requirement in accordance with Schedule 9, Part 1 of the Equality Act 2010 due to the specific needs of the individual being supported.
What We're Looking For
To apply, you must have:
- A minimum of 6 months' care experience within a UK care setting or supporting a family member
- A caring, patient and compassionate approach
- Good communication skills and a willingness to learn
Previous complex care experience is welcome but not essential. Full clinical training and ongoing support will be provided by our experienced Registered Nurse team.
About the Role
As a Waking Night Care Assistant, you will provide overnight support to a lady living with Motor Neurone Disease, ensuring her comfort, safety and wellbeing throughout the night.
Your responsibilities may include:
- Personal care and overnight support
- Medication administration
- Monitoring and responding to care needs
- Moving and handling using specialist equipment
- Supporting communication needs
- Promoting comfort, dignity and independence
- Tracheostomy care
- Suctioning
- Gastrostomy (PEG) feeding
The client is no longer able to communicate verbally, so we are looking for someone who is patient, attentive and able to build trust using alternative methods of communication.
You will receive full training, competency sign-off and ongoing clinical support from our in-house Registered Nurses and training specialists, ensuring you feel confident and supported every step of the way.
