Home Care Team Praised
Alcedo Care’s Home Care Team has received praise from St Helen’s Council Social Work Team for the outstanding way in which they cared for a home care customer they discovered in an extreme state of distress.
The customer in question has no family and lives alone, relying solely on Alcedo Care’s Home Care Team for all his home care support, allowing him to live independently in the settled environment of his own home.
On visiting the customer in the morning to help with his washing, dressing, breakfast and medication, he was found to be in a distressed, confused and highly agitated state.
It was clear to see this wasn’t going to be a normal home care visit and that additional support would be required to help the customer.
The Alcedo Care Home Care team were quick to respond and ensured the customer’s safety throughout the day until other agencies arrived.
Claire Culshaw, Alcedo Care Registered Manager comments, “Thank you to the team for the care and compassion shown. This was a complex situation which we do not experience daily, but does require the highest levels of care. I would like to thank the team involved for their tireless efforts to ensure the customer remained safe, secure and well.”
The Home Care Team’s efforts were also recognised by St Helen’s Council Social Work Team, who sent us the following email:
“The timely response from you and the staff at Alcedo Care, in cancelling Mr C’s bank cards and dealing with his health needs deserve to be recognised, as such I will be informing the Quality Monitoring Team.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your time and consideration during this process.
Please pass on my thanks to all the staff involved in supporting Mr C.”
