Lancaster & Wyre homecare staff have completed a 7km Memory Walk around Lancaster, from the Alcedo Care offices in Riverway House on Morecambe Road, in memory of those suffering with dementia and Alzheimer’s .
Alzheimer’s Disease & Memory Walk
Alzheimer’s disease is the most common type of dementia. It is a progressive disease beginning with mild memory loss and possibly leading to loss of the ability to carry on a conversation and respond to the environment. Alzheimer’s disease involves parts of the brain that control thought, memory, and language.
Raising Awareness
Memory Walk is a family-friendly sponsored walk and a fantastic way to raise awareness and make a real difference to people affected by dementia.
By taking part in a Memory Walk we are also able to show our support for those suffering dementia, along with their their carers, family and friends.
