Alcedo Care Group makes a splash for Elsie’s Story with a thrilling water challenge!
For the second consecutive year, the Alcedo Care team has braved the rapids of the River Dee and taken to the water, this time not only with exhilarating white water rafting but also with a new challenge: canoeing! Together, we braced the heights of the highest aqueduct in the world and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct in North Wales
This April, our fearless team of 60 brave colleagues, along with family and friends from across our North of England and Wales branches, came together for an unforgettable day, all in support of a cause incredibly close to our hearts: Elsie’s Story.
Teams from HR, payroll, finance, marketing, events, IT, and office staff across our North of England and Wales locations came together with colleagues from our Southport head office. Alcedo Care Group founders and directors, Andy and Jo Boardman, also joined the 60 enthusiastic participants. As all paddled, laughed, and navigated the waterways, their palpable camaraderie and team spirit clearly demonstrated their commitment to making a real difference.
While last year we supported the Spinal Injuries Association, this year we shifted our focus to Elsie’s Story, a charity that resonates deeply with many within our organisation. We’re incredibly proud to have dedicated our efforts to this vital cause, and the enthusiasm from everyone involved was truly inspiring. With the help of friends, family, local communities, partners and everyone who supported us along the way, we exceeded our goal of £6000, raising more than £7700.
The Alcedo Care Group is built on a foundation of care, not just for our clients but also for our wider community. Events like this water challenge exemplify our dedication to giving back and working together to support local charities. We extend a huge thank you to all 60 colleagues who took part, making this year’s fundraising event a fantastic success for Elsie’s Story!
