Alcedo Care was delighted to attend this year’s Disability Awareness Day in Warrington on July 14th. The event, which has been held annually since 1992, is the world’s largest not-for-profit voluntary-led disability exhibition with over 200 exhibitors and thousands of visitors.
Held in a huge, tented village on the grounds of Walton Hall Gardens, the event aims to bring together people with disabilities, their families and many organisations that provide help, support and services to people with disabilities. There’s also an array of fun activities for visitors including a silent disco, arts and crafts marquee and a Sports Zone.
Adam Garvey, Events Manager for Alcedo Care, said, “The event was fantastic! From the minute we arrived, the day was filled with conversations about our outstanding Alcedo Care services. Events like this are very much needed in local communities and this event proved there’s a huge demand for information regarding what’s available for people living with illness or disabilities.
Our mascot AL made an appearance too and spent lunchtime dancing with the public and having his picture taken!”
Adam engaged with over 200 people on the day and we hope our services can support their independence and help them in their day-to-day lives.
