Irene - Group Head of Training, Learning & Development

I joined Alcedo Care in January 2024 in a temporary role and quickly found my place as the Group Head of Training, Learning and Development. I really love what I do – working with our amazing teams and helping everyone grow. After a long career as an Operating Theatre Nurse and finishing my career in nursing as a Nurse Matron (yes, I heard all the jokes), I decided to shift my focus to learning and development.

When I am not at work, I’m a proud Rotarian. For those who might not know, Rotary International is all about bringing people together to make a positive impact in communities worldwide. I’ve had the chance to travel a lot through Rotary, meeting incredible people and supporting various projects. The values of service, fellowship, diversity, integrity and leadership that Rotary stands for really resonate with the culture at Alcedo Care. Making my work even more fulfilling
